Terms of Service
The agreement between your barn and Cantr Technologies LLC. Plain-English on purpose.
Effective: February 15, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Cantr platform (“Service”), operated by Cantr Technologies LLC (“Cantr”). By signing up for or using Cantr, you agree to these Terms on behalf of the barn or organization you represent.
1. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and authorized to bind your barn to these Terms. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for anything that happens under your account.
2. What Cantr is
Cantr is a hosted software platform that helps equestrian facilities manage horses, lessons, invoices, contracts, records, and communications. Cantr is not:
- A veterinary, medical, or professional-advice provider.
- A licensed insurer or benefits administrator.
- A payment processor (Stripe processes payments — Cantr just orchestrates the request).
3. Subscription and payment
Cantr offers Starter and Pro tiers. Prices, features, and any promotional trial length are shown on the pricing sectionat the moment you subscribe.
- Trials are pre-paid: we collect card details at sign-up and charge the first period only after the trial ends. You can cancel any time during the trial.
- Subscriptions renew monthly (or annually) until cancelled.
- All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes.
- Refunds are handled case-by-case — email info@cantr.us.
4. Marketplace payments (Stripe Connect)
When your barn accepts card payments from clients through Cantr, the money is routed through your own connected Stripe account. Cantr charges a small platform fee (currently 1.5% on Starter, 1% on Pro) in addition to Stripe's standard processing fee. Cantr never holds your funds.
5. Your responsibilities
- Only invite users who've consented to have an account at your barn.
- Only enable SMS or email notifications for users who've opted in.
- Don't upload content that infringes anyone else's rights or breaks the law.
- Don't attempt to break tenant isolation, scrape other barns' data, or reverse-engineer the Service.
6. Content ownership
You own everything you or your users upload to Cantr. You grant Cantr a limited license to store, transmit, and display that content so we can run the Service for you. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership.
7. Availability
Cantr aims for 99.9% monthly uptime and runs on cloud infrastructure with automated backups. We do occasional maintenance and will do our best to schedule it outside common lesson hours.
8. Warranty disclaimer
Cantr is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, Cantr disclaims all implied warranties (merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement). Your barn is ultimately responsible for the accuracy of the records it keeps.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Cantr's aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) $100 or (b) the fees your barn paid Cantr in the twelve months before the claim. Cantr is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Termination
You can cancel from Billing → Subscription at any time. Cantr may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, on notice. On termination, your data stays available for 90 days before permanent deletion (see Privacy Policy).
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Onondaga County, New York, unless you have a mandatory local forum.
12. Changes
We'll email every barn admin at least 30 days before material changes to these Terms take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you agree.
