Cantr vs Equestria
The paid option that pays for itself the first time you invoice a client in Cantr instead of chasing it in a spreadsheet.
Equestria is a free general-purpose tool. It's a fine place to start if you just need to log horse records. Cantr is the paid option for the moment you also need to invoice, schedule, chase payments, and give staff a role-limited view — those are all in the box, not add-ons.

The math is straightforward. Cantr saves most barn owners hours per week on billing alone — one recovered late fee usually covers the monthly bill. If you're not invoicing yet or don't need scheduling, a free tool is fine. Once you invoice or schedule, Cantr pays for itself.
Cantr accepts CSV, XLSX, and PDF imports for horses and clients. Export from Equestria as CSV, then import in Cantr. Most migrations finish in an afternoon.
Your barn's data stays exportable. Cantr keeps data 90 days after cancellation so you can reactivate or request an export by emailing info@cantr.us.
